This year’s South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils’ business breakfast is taking place on 5 February and should be another resounding success with the addition of two excellent speakers.
Business leaders are invited to attend the free networking event being hosted by
Cllr Paul Harrison, Cabinet Member for Development and Regeneration, with an update on the councils’ support for the local economy before he introduces two representatives from the world of business. The speakers will provide real-life insights on this year’s theme – the importance of finding the right premises and workspace.
First to speak will be Mr Bertie van-Wyk, a Wellness Advocate from the interior furnishings manufacturer Herman Miller, on the importance of wellbeing in the workplace and how improvements can help organisations to become more productive, healthy and connected.
The second speaker will be Mr Chris Barnet, founder and Director of 1973 Ltd., a successful digital marketing agency based in South Oxfordshire. Mr Barnet will give the audience information on the challenges of a fast expanding organisation and tips on how to find the right location for businesses to deliver services locally, nationally and overseas.
Cllr Harrison, who will open the event, said: “Our business breakfasts have become very successful in providing updates and an essential networking opportunity for local organisations. As the official hosts, we look forward to welcoming all business representatives attending from both districts.”
Cllr Roger Cox, Leader of Vale of White Horse District Council, said: “People and organisations that base themselves in the Science Vale are some of the most highly skilled and specialist in the world. Having events like the business breakfast helps to bring people together to create new connections and further collaborative working.”
The South and Vale business breakfast is a free of charge for local business representatives and interested parties, with typically over 150 people attending to network and hear from local and national business leaders.
Taking place at De Vere Oxford Thames Hotel in Sandford-on-Thames, attendees can enjoy a complimentary light breakfast starting at 7.30am with presentations from 8am-10am. People attending are reminded to bring their business cards as there will be the opportunity to network and promote their own business.
