SODC – Latest Flooding Update

South Oxfordshire District Council flooding update – LATEST INFORMATION Tuesday 11 February 4pm

v     There continues to be a number of Environment Agency flood alerts and warnings in place across the county.  More rain is expected this week and properties near to land which is already saturated maybe at risk of flash flooding, so please keep checking the Environment Agency's website (www.environment-agency.gov.uk)

v     South Oxfordshire District Council is continuing to work closely with town and parish councils to try to ensure that sandbags are provided to those at greatest need

v     flooding to roads and railway lines are causing extensive travel disruption throughout the South East and people are advised to check transport operator websites before travelling

v     residents in areas affected by flooding or major road closures are unlikely to receive a waste collection.  We are currently advising residents to still put their bins out, and as we receive more specific information about collections, we will provide further advice.

v     if it is a none urgent call then please call the emergency service on 101

v     to report flooding from a sewer please call Thames Water on 0845 9200 800 or visit Thames Water's Sewer Flooding page

v     If you are concerned about a vulnerable person please call the county council's emergency duty team on 0800 833 408

v     keep an eye on Oxfordshire County Council and Environment Agency websites

v     follow the Twitter feeds from the district council and county council, and also by using #oxonflood.
